# What is VOD2Live, what is Live+VOD2Live ?

VOD2Live and Live+VOD2Live refer to methods of content delivery that blend aspects of live and pre-recorded content. VOD2Live, or "Video on Demand to Live", allows viewers to watch pre-recorded content in real-time, giving the impression that it is being streamed live. This method is often used to make pre-recorded content feel more interactive and engaging by adding elements of live interaction, such as the ability for viewers to chat with each other in real-time. Essentially, VOD2Live repurposes assets that have already been prepared for over-the-top (OTT) video on demand (VOD) streaming into a live linear stream. This can enable the creation of targeted channels that could be too expensive to run using a full broadcast playout chain and encoder. On the other hand, Live+VOD2Live channels combine live and pre-recorded content. However, these channels sometimes lack the ability to continuously play out the content. Some platforms, such as iReplay, have the capability to play out content 24/7 by using an automatic, weighted random playlist.
