What is WHIP?

WebRTC HTTP Ingest Protocol (WHIP) is an application-level protocol that's used in the context of Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC). It's designed to allow WebRTC encoders to push media streams to a media server. The aim of WHIP is to ensure the reliable delivery of real-time audio and video streams over HTTP, improving the efficiency and performance of live streaming scenarios.

WHIP is especially useful in situations where low latency is required, such as live broadcasts or interactive streaming events. It's designed to work well with WebRTC, a technology that enables peer-to-peer communication of audio and video data in web applications.
