Streaming Cost Optimizer: cut CDN delivery costs without moving your CDN
The iReplay.tv Streaming Cost Optimizer duplicates your existing CDN edge and serves viewers from ours in parallel, so a large share of the traffic you are billed for never reaches your own edge. Nothing moves: you keep your CDN, your origin, and your player. The optimizer hands you a new HLS URL built on redundant stream failover, so if our edge has a problem the player falls back to your own edge mid-session rather than stalling.
How it works
- Paste your HLS URL and pick a primary and secondary audience region (Europe or America).
- We cache your stream on our edges and return an optimized playlist that lists our edge first and yours as the fallback.
- Your origin sees no extra load: the duplication happens edge to edge, not origin to edge.
- A high-tolerance variant (a 10 or 25 second larger live window) is available for viewers far from the origin, where the extra buffer is worth more than the latency.
What it costs and what it reports
Billing is by streamed minute, not by bandwidth, so the number is predictable before the event rather than after it. Sixty streamed minutes are free without an account and six hundred after signing in with LinkedIn. A live dashboard shows uptime, active viewers, data served, the remaining balance and the running session cost while the stream is on air. Access can also be restricted to paying subscribers or one-time buyers through the payment and membership providers you already use.
Not sure the stream itself is sound before you put edges in front of it? The Streaming Analyzer scores it against best practice, and the CDN Prewarmer fills caches before an audience arrives. iReplay.tv is run by a collective of streaming and broadcast engineers; you can also hire streaming and broadcast specialists.
